Over the past five years, services procurement solutions have become an increasingly common means of managing a project-based workforce in the US. The distinction between the temporary workforce, or historical first generation MSP, and services procurement or Statement of Work (SOW) solutions is significant from an operational, category, and strategic management aspect. However, this approach to workforce management is still very much in its infancy outside of the US. In EMEA, SOW-based services procurement solutions have only begun to take off over the past three years, while in APAC they are still in their infancy.
Combine this with the fact services procurement solutions are more complex than other workforce management solutions and it means that simply copying the approach used in the US is an unfeasible option.
