As a global leader in life sciences and clinical research, our client needs the agility to launch new manufacturing capabilities seamlessly — all while maintaining business as usual. Previously, the company relied on recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) providers primarily for resource augmentation. However, the current industry landscape demands a more scalable and strategic approach for the future.
After analyzing its job profiles and hiring trends, our client determined it could outsource manufacturing operations roles globally to improve consistency while meeting regional needs. They sought an RPO partner who could provide an innovative, scalable solution for hiring entry-level manufacturing and warehouse jobs at 160 facilities across North America and Europe.
When evaluating workforce solutions, flexibility was key. A cookie-cutter enterprise RPO approach wasn’t going to help them achieve their goals. They needed an RPO provider who could scale up or down and deliver not just end-to-end RPO, but project-based and resource augmentation solutions in various markets as needed.
They selected AGS Managed Services as its global RPO partner, recognizing our global footprint, superior sourcing capabilities and flexible support models. Since AGS also serves as the company’s contingent workforce managed service provider (MSP), we are positioned to help the organization evolve its strategy for integrating talent across all worker types.
To enable our client’s internal talent acquisition team to flexibly pivot to meet business demands, we designed a blended RPO model focused on filling high-volume, entry-level manufacturing positions globally. Examples of roles filled include warehouse, assembly, forklift operators, maintenance technicians, sample associates, research technicians, janitors and housekeeping, among others.
Support varied based on specific market needs. Four large sites required an on-site solution, whereas areas with lower volume called for remote support. To optimize cost and time efficiencies, our RPO model leverages the vast scale and coverage of AGS’ global delivery centers. Our offshore centers provide back-end and coordination support, whereas front-facing recruiters work on-site, remotely or in a regional AGS hub in North America or Europe. This enables AGS to deliver flexible, multilingual solutions across 40 countries.
Technology has further accelerated the speed of our delivery. Our RPO team has partnered with our client since implementation to continue evolving the utilization of Phenom People into new modules and activities, such as talent community and email blasts, high-volume interview scheduling, and auto-scheduling candidates for entry-level roles.
When hiring volumes rose quicker than anticipated during the wider, global implementation period, AGS stepped in to fill immediate gaps in specific markets to handle the increased volume and demand. We began project RPO engagements in EMEA, North America and Latin America to provide surge support and ensure continuity of their business. This on-the-job learning and early exposure proved highly advantageous for AGS, as our team was quickly embedded within the client’s environment — learning about the organization and its culture, ways of working and regional nuances.
AGS is seen as a trusted workforce partner, delivering a cohesive strategy to bring talent into our client’s organization efficiently and cost-effectively. Currently, AGS supports more than 2,500 roles annually in North America and Latin America, and over 1,300 roles annually across 11 countries in Europe. The scale and speed of our blended RPO model have been amplified by strategic partnership, creative sourcing and marketing strategies, and flexibility of delivery.
Companies requiring large, entry-level manufacturing workforces often face high turnover rates. We were able to help our client stand out in competitive markets through employer branding and recruitment marketing support via AGS Ignite.
Over the course of three months, AGS Ignite filmed at a dozen client sites in North America and Europe to develop over 45 strategic videos. Through dynamic, targeted storytelling, these videos shared authentic employee experiences, demonstrated the company’s global impact, and brought to life the culture, values and day-to-day roles across the world. These videos were used in recruitment campaigns to increase the candidate funnel, drive engagement and attendance at hiring events and, ultimately, connect top talent to our client’s mission.
A significant factor in our successful partnership with our client has been our ability to scale and shift support to address what’s most important to their recruitment efforts at any given time. Over the past two years, AGS has delivered multiple modular and project RPO engagements for our client, including:
By adapting quickly to evolving needs and delivering impactful sourcing and recruitment marketing strategies, AGS has helped our client attract top talent and strengthen its workforce globally. This collaborative approach not only addressed immediate hiring challenges but also set the foundation for long-term success and growth.
AGS continues to support our client’s total talent strategy by providing workforce insights to guide decisions on FTE versus contingent roles, with a focus on contractor conversions as part of broader workforce planning strategies.
