Meeting Missions: Lending a Hand to Hire Better, Faster

Looking to establish a global capability centre in India, a multinational financial institution sought a reliable partner with demonstrable experience in talent acquisition to hire the brightest minds in technology, operations, and risk and compliance. After looking into several workforce solutions providers, they chose Allegis Global Solutions (AGS).

When the client engaged AGS as its recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) partner  we aimed to reduce time-to-fill, tap into technology and advance the client’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals. Additionally, AGS offered market analytics and talent insights to client leaders on the location-specific talent landscape, recruitment marketing, brand building and best practices for standardizing recruitment operations processes.

Taking Action: Balancing Rapid Hires and Workforce Diversity

At the time of engagement, the bank had approximately 300 employees working out of its Bangalore office. The go-live coincided with the height of the global pandemic and corresponding constraints. In that short period of time, AGS helped the client seamlessly shift all interview and operational activities to a virtual setup and recruit more than 700 full-time resources. By November 2023, the number of new hires skyrocketed to 5,100.

Not only are we continuing to acquire talent for our client at the desired rapid rate, AGS is making an impact across a wide range of skills and job titles, including:

  • 2,250+ technology roles (e.g., digital, analytics and data engineering)
  • 2,000+ operations roles (e.g., financial crime, money and payments)
  • 500+ risk and compliance roles (e.g., operational risk, credit risk, market risk and financial risk)

From the onset of the partnership, diversity of hire has been important to our client in addition to hiring qualified candidates quickly. Specifically, they wanted to balance the gender mix of their workforce. To achieve this, AGS and the client employed a two-fold process, which included leadership endorsement and recruitment marketing with a DEI focus. Gaining the support of client global leadership abroad and locally in India was pivotal in terms of pushing the needle on diversity hiring. Both internal and external marketing campaigns -- including referral incentives and market surveys – were instrumental in boosting the client’s gender diverse hiring practices.

Delivering Impact: Exceeding Expectations, Earning Trust

AGS continues to earn the confidence of the client, and our support team of nearly 50 sourcers, recruiters, coordinators and other support functions are looked to internally as an extension of the client’s own team. The AGS team regularly exceeds expectations of its service level agreements (SLAs) – so much so that new, more aggressive goals have been set for future achievements. Further, we have improved the overall hiring experience for both candidates and hiring managers – consistently maintaining satisfaction ratings of 4.3 and above on a 1 to 5 scale.

Recruiting efforts have also progressed exponentially throughout the partnership, with the client’s current time to offer at an average of 31 days. Further, employee referral rates are up to 30%. In terms of DEI, the client has been recognised for being 45% gender diverse and is now considered “best in class” in the industry for gender diversity. We have also supported our client’s partnership with Enable India – a non-governmental organisation that helps persons with disabilities achieve economic independence – and has so far recruited 18 people into our client’s organisation.

Overall, AGS has proven to be a valued asset to our client – not only meeting and exceeding initial hiring goals but also helping to embed DEI as an essential part of their long-term workforce strategy.
